You can display the color swatches in the layered navigation of your category sidebar. This will work with both the default Magento layered navigation, or any custom layered navigation extension like the ones from Amasty or Manadev. You can also choose to display the color swatches in the product grid or list view on the category page. The color swatches can also be displayed on the product page. Customers can click on the different color swatches to get an updated picture in the selected color. This gives you the opportunity to showcase your products in a way that makes the colors come out perfectly. The average online store shows 1 image of the product, and lets customers select a color variation through a drop down box. They don’t get to see an image of the different color, and they have to see how it looks when the product arrives on their doorstep.
